Maasziekenhuis Pantein

Maasziekenhuis Pantein (MZH) is a basic hospital in Boxmeer. The hospital serves the Land van Cuijk and Noord-Limburg. Maasziekenhuis Pantein is part of the umbrella organisation Pantein, to which Thuiszorg (home care) Pantein and Zorgcentra (care centres) Pantein also belong.

The MZH buildings on the current location were technically and functionally very dated. For this reason, an initiative was developed for an entirely new building at the Sterckwijck care and learning park in Boxmeer. As consultant and project manager, we were intensively involved with the new building, from the first initiative to its occupation. Based on MZH’s policy vision, we developed a basic philosophy that we translated into a schedule of requirements. Together with the designing parties, this programme was translated into a structural plan and a design. The basic principles were adjusted twice during this process in keeping with the changing strategic context.

Together with MZH, we subsequently developed a strategy to market the design. We came up with a system of tax-efficient entities in which MZH and the market parties participate with respect to the exploitation of the property.

Following a successful execution period, the new building for Maasziekenhuis Pantein was completed on time and within budget at the end of 2010. The hospital was brought into use in spring 2011. The old location was vacated when the new building was occupied in 2011.
