Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis

The new building of the Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis was opened in 2011. The three former hospital locations in Den Bosch are now housed in one location. There are also three sub-locations with rehabilitation, mental health care and oncology care.

The Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis currently has an average number of 710 available beds (1,120 authorised beds). In the hospital the emphasis is on the patient. This was an important starting point during the design and layout phase of the new building. This building of approximately 100,000 m² has been segmented into several building components as a result of which the human dimension remains visible. By utilising the internal gardens that arose through segmentation of the building, a ‘healing environment’ was created.

Together with the organisation, we have drawn up the schedule of requirements, supervised the preliminary design and took care of the project and cost management. We have also contributed to the concept development for various components such as the outpatient clinics and the staff and knowledge centre. During the design and layout phase of the new building, the needs of the patient were pivotal.
